Analysis of U.S. Scrap Aluminum Exports in 2019


According to the latest data released by the US Geological Survey, the United States exported 30,900 tons of scrap aluminum to Malaysia in September; 40,100 tons in October; 41,500 tons in November; 32,500 tons in December; in December 2018, the United States exported 15,800 tons of aluminum scrap to Malaysia.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the United States exported 114,100 tons of scrap aluminum to Malaysia, an increase of 49.15% month-on-month; in the third quarter, it exported 76,500 tons.

In 2019, the United States exported 290,000 tons of scrap aluminum to Malaysia, a year-on-year increase of 48.72%; in 2018 it was 195,000 tons.

In addition to Malaysia, South Korea is the second largest export destination for US scrap aluminum. In December 2019, the United States exported 22,900 tons of scrap aluminum to South Korea, 23,000 tons in November, and 24,000 tons in October.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the United States exported 69,900 tons of scrap aluminum to South Korea. In 2019, the United States exported 273,000 tons of scrap aluminum to South Korea, an increase of 13.28% year-on-year, and 241,000 tons in 2018.
