According to statistics from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The US produced 55,000 tons of primary aluminum in September, down 8.3% from the same month in 2023.
During the reporting period, recycled aluminum production was 286,000 tons, up 0.7% year on year. 160,000 tons came from new waste aluminum and 126,000 tons came from old aluminum waste.
In the first nine months of this year, U. S. primary aluminum production totaled 507,000 tons, down 10.1% from a year earlier. Recycling aluminum production reached 2,640,000 tons, up 2.3% year on year. Among them, 1,460,000 tons were recycled from new waste aluminum and 1,170,000 tons were from old waste aluminum.
